Fall

I was trying to get a cute fall picture of Carter but all he wanted to do was get all the leaves and eat them

Kevin had to go to Spokane for a week for work which was not very fun, but while he was gone I stayed with my parents which was fun. I'm sure glad they live close so I didn't have to be lonely all week and Carter sure has fun there.  We played, went on walks, canned applesauce, made mashed carrots for Carter and I sewed his dinosaur costume.

Carter crawling around

Playing with Grandma. Silly boy climbed over her shoulder then just flopped over and smiled and gave her a little head rub with his feet.

Snuggling with Grandpa

Unfortunately Carter didn't sleep too well when we were there. I think being in a different place is hard for him so he took quite a few naps in my arms which I really didn't mind until it came to night time and then he still didn't want to sleep in his bed.

A couple weeks ago Kevin got off early from work so we took Carter to the park and he sat in the swing by himself for the first time. Then we went to Olive Garden to celebrate Kevin officially being a CPA! Carter loved being at the restaurant, he wanted to watch everybody and look at all of the lights.

 Ready for some dinner.

Halloween

This year for Halloween we decided to have a little party.  We invited a few friends from our ward and had some treats and played games. It was a lot of fun.  On Halloween we went to our ward trunk-or-treat. Here are some pictures
Carter's pumpkin. It is supposed to be a spider made from his handprints but someone was a little wiggly

my little dino

we made vampire teeth and spiders for our party. I forgot to take a picture of the food before everyone came but luckily there was one of each left at the end

It was a little rainy at the trunk or treat but we had fun!

A few of Carter's favorite things

Now that Carter can get around pretty easily he has a few favorite places to explore.

He likes to go down the hall and try to see what's in the closets

He loves to climb in the bookshelf

He likes to get our shoes

And play under tables
He loves to try and get the camera or our phones

He likes to pull his diapers out and play with them

He loves to play under blankets

He likes to eat drawstrings

He loves to be outside and go for walks
He loves playing with measuring spoons, cups and tupperware

And he loves to look out the window

8 months old!

Carter is 8 months old! He has 2 teeth, he is getting really good at army crawling. This morning I was at one end of the hall and he was at the other and I started crawling toward him and he got his little arms going and was pulling himself as fast as he could. It was so sweet. He likes to get into everything and play with anything that isn't a toy like the t.v. remote, shoes and our phones. He has started feeding himself a little bit. He has had cheerios, toast and pees.  He loves to feed himself.  He also loves splashing during his bath, playing outside and listening to music. He is very ticklish and loves to laugh. He especially likes to play on our bed and loves when daddy gets home. We love our sweet, silly boy!

Fall

I have mixed feelings about it being fall...it means summer is over, which I am very sad about and not ready for, but there are lots of fun things to do in the Fall.  If only we could just have fall and then skip straight to summer again.  We've had a fun month so far minus Kevin having to travel for work, which he had to do again at the end of the month and I am not very happy about that.  Although Carter and I do enjoy having a sleepover at Grandma's while he is gone.
I finally finished my Halloween banner that I started last October, I think it turned out pretty cute:)

I put out my Fall decorations

It doesn't look that good in the picture but I tried making potato cheddar soup and bread bowls! It turned out pretty good. I even experimented a little and added broccoli to the soup which was really good.

Yay for apple season! We have lots of apples and made some really yummy pie. I'm excited to make some applesauce too and we think we might try to make some apple muffins tomorrow.  My mom has a whole tree full of apples that she picked to we will be making lots of apple stuff to try:)

This morning we found a fun pumpkin patch/farm to go to. We had a blast! the animals were all so cute and Carter loved being outside and it only rained on us a little bit. I already can't wait to take Carter back next year when he will be a little older.

There were lots of baby animals including some cute kittens

There was a pretty vegetable garden too

Luckily it only rained for the first few minutes that we were there.

A pony

We got to feed some chickens and ducks

Kevin liked teasing them and make them chase after him to get the food, he kept running back and forth with the food in his hand...sometimes he's not very nice.

This pig won a ribbon at the fair...not sure why but I'm sure its pretty cool

There were even chicks hatching! They were so cute.  There were two that were just breaking out of their shells.

Baby cow!

Sheep that kept baaaing at us

Petting baby chicks

and baby ducks

Carter liked those

The cutest little baby goats, this one was my favorite

Peacocks

These piglets were only 7 days old! They were so cute all piled up taking a nap

This mama pig was pregnant and so big and tired that she couldn't even get up to eat. She was just laying there trying to lick the hay up into her mouth...poor piggy. I totally understand. I only had one baby in me and by the end I didn't want to move either.

Carter liked the pigs.

Picking out a pumpkin!

Carter wanted that pumpkin so bad.

Worn out after a fun day.
