4 months old!

I cannot believe my little peanut is already 4 months old! He is growing so fast. We sure love having this little guy in our family.  He still loves to talk to us, smile lots and read books. He also loves music, especially when we sing along to him. He loves when we hold him so he can stand up and he can look around. He is a very observant little boy. He laughs every once and awhile, he is ticklish on his tummy and thighs. He can grab onto toys now! He also likes to try and grab our faces. These last couple weeks he hasn't been sleeping great...up every 4 hours or so, but last night he slept from 8:30-4, ate and then back to bed until 7:30. Hopefully he keeps that up because it sure is nice:) He is still not good at napping-he will only nap for 30 minutes in his crib and will only go longer if I hold him.  He loves to suck on his fingers and anything else he can get a hold of and he loves to blow spit bubbles. At his 4 month check up he weighed 13lbs 4oz and was 24 inches long. He is one sweet little boy:)

Mother's day

We had a great Mother's day.  I got up to feed Carter then put him back to bed while I showered and came out to find a sweet note written by Kevin from Carter and some cookies.  It was so sweet:) We spent the day with my family and had a yummy bbq for dinner.  I'm so grateful for my mom, she is such a good example to me and I love her so much! I'm also so grateful for the opportunity I have to be Carter's mom.  He is teaching me so much and brings me so much happiness.  I am one lucky girl to be his mom!

Beach and bathtime

We have been dying to go to this beach by our house and we finally had a nice Saturday so we could all go together. It was so fun! It was a really nice, big beach.  There were nice sandy spots and rocky spots too where you could find little crabs. Kevin packed us a nice picnic lunch and we had a great time.  It was a little bright out for Carter...we need to get that kid some sunglasses, poor guy sneezes every time the sun shines in his face. And it was hard to keep him in the shade, but we learned so next time we will be more prepared.

poor little squinty eyes

We put Carter in the big bath tub for the first time.  We'd been bathing him in the sink but he keeps kicking his legs really hard against the side and pushing himself up and I'm afraid he's gonna slam his head.  He seemed to really like it, mostly I think it was because it was warm because we could close the bathroom door and keep all the warm air in...he gets cold when I take him out of the kitchen sink.

One day after his bath he was just being so cute and snuggly

3 months old

Carter turned 3 months old on May 20th. He is such a sweet little boy and we love him so much! He is still very smiley, especially for Kevin. He is so cute and just stares and smiles at Kevin any time he is in the room, even if he is supposed to be eating or sleeping he just gets the sweetest little grin on his face. He swats at toys now but doesn't grab them yet. He loves to just hold his hands up and stare at them and suck on his fist. He is getting so good at holding his head up and likes to look all around. He sleeps between 7-9 hours a night although this last week he has decided he needs a midnight snack again...hopefully it is just a growth spurt and he goes back to sleeping through the night. He loves to talk and read books and blow bubbles with his mouth. He rolled over from tummy to back a few days after he turned 3 months...really he just tipped over but I'm still proud of him and he has done it several times since.  We are still working on getting him to laugh, he has only done it a few times. We are having so much fun and feel so blessed to be able to raise such a sweet, funny little boy. We love our Carter! Here are some pictures from the month...sorry, kind of a lot, its hard to choose which ones.
Happy baby:)

3 months old

Trying to get his toys. He gets so focused:)

He has also developed a fascination with phones/cameras so he makes this face a lot when we try to take pictures of him. We have to distract him and then hurry and take it before he realizes what we are doing.

1 month, 2 months and 3 months old...he is getting so big!
He loves to play outside and look all around

He is one happy boy!

He also has learned that he likes to stand up and look around.

he likes to sit up too so he can see what's going on
