Playing outside

It has been so hot this last week so we spent a lot of evenings in the pool or playing outside because it would be too hot in our apartment.
Playing outside on the jean blanket that I just finished making:)

My crazy baby

Carter finding his voice and yelling for us

He has turned into a wiggly little monster and wants to grab everything

Enjoying a picnic at the lake

And just a couple random pictures...Carter in his Sunday best
I don't think we have a piano player...he was not a fan.

4th of July

I love the 4th of July. We headed out to Carnation for the 4th and spent the day with my family. Started off with a 5K in the morning then went to the parade and then we spent the afternoon barbecuing with family.  And my mom was even nice enough to babysit so Kevin and I could go watch the fireworks:)
Definitely not my fastest 5K but it was my first one since Carter was born so it felt good to just finish.

At the parade.  I thought Carter would enjoy looking at everything but it was just too bright and sunny for the poor little guy.

My cousin, Michelle, brought her new little baby out. He was so tiny compared to Carter.

Enjoying being baby free at the fireworks:)

5 months old

The little man is 5 months old! I can't believe it. What happened to my tiny newborn? He is getting so big and is more and more fun everyday.  He can roll over! Back to tummy, but sometimes he forgets how to go back the other way so he fusses until I turn him over. Silly baby. He has discovered his toes and they are his new favorite toy. He loves to hold them and eat them. He loves to chew on his fingers, loves music, reading and standing up. He is just a curious little guy and wants to see everything. When we go someplace new he looks all around just soaking it all in.  He likes to laugh, especially for Kevin. His thighs and sides and under his chin are ticklish. He has discovered his voice and likes to do a high pitched squeal and he still babbles all the time. He has been a stinker at sleeping the last couple weeks...I don't know why, I feel like I have a newborn again. He was up every 2-3 hours the other night. I hope this phase ends soon and he goes back to sleeping 8-9 hours in a row. He is still a little guy and wears mostly size 3 months clothes, just size 6 months in jammies. We love our sweet, smiley little guy.  It is so fun to watch him learn and grow!

California!

Last week we got to go to California and spend time with Kevin's family. It was so much fun! We went to the beach, to Disneyland, to the temple, played games, went swimming in the pool and had lots of fun. It was so great to have all 7 of Kevin's siblings together with their families and his parents. We all stayed in a house together and mostly just enjoyed spending time together. Kevin's mom did a great job planning everything and was so prepared-I'm so grateful that she planned this great vacation for all of us. We already miss everybody and want to go back.

On the airplane! Carter did great!

Day at the Beach

Carter in his tent at the beach-so glad Kevin's mom got this, Carter loved playing in it and it kept him nice and cool in the shade.

I don't know if there is anything cuter that little baby toes in the sand:)

All the boys playing frisbee

Carter ready to go for a swim

Hanging out with Aunt Cindy

Playing in the water

I love the beach so much! I told Kevin we need to move here. I could have spent the whole week at the beach and I would have been happy.

The beach wore this guy out. He was asleep before we left the parking lot.

Everyone loving on Carter boy:)

On this trip Carter discovered the joy of someone sitting next to him in the car. He loved it!

Disneyland

So excited for Disneyland!

Big Thunder Mountain! Kevin's mom was so great and would watch Carter so I could go on a few rides too:)

Happy baby:)

Carter got so excited to go on his first ride that he fell asleep in line. Luckily he woke up in time for the ride.

He loved looking all around on Jungle Cruise

Splash Mountain!

Worn out, but still happy after a long, fun day at Disneyland!
